Mini Mobile Robotic Printer runs across surface of sheet of paper to print

Portable robot printer close to securing funding

A portable printer that runs across the surface of a sheet of paper to print is close to securing funding.

The Mini Mobile Robotic Printer is a small teardrop-shaped device which aims to provide the ability to print on the go.

The robot aims to print an A4 sheet of paper in under a minute, but is forecasted to be compatible with any page size.

The device also requires no drivers, meaning it can be used with a laptop, tablet, smartphone or any other device.

The rechargeable device is said to last for over an hour on each charge, with the greyscale inkjet cartridge estimated to last for over 1,000 printed pages.

Launched on Kickstarter, at the time of writing the campaign has raised over $327,000 (£195,387) of its $400,000 (£239,006) goal, with 25 days still left to run.

Backers can secure the white version of the printer at an ‘early bird’ price of $180 (£108), or the ‘Mars Black’ model for $200 (£120).
