PCR Boot Camp Partner Spotlight: Westcoast

Westcoast’s sales and marketing director Alex Tatham tells PCR what his company will be doing at the forthcoming Boot Camp…

How important is it for UK retailers and resellers to connect well with customers?

It is critical that any retailer or reseller understands and knows what their customer’s opportunities are. Asking the right questions will help identify these opportunities and partnering with the right distributors will make that process even easier to help win more business.

What do you see being the key issues facing PC retailers in 2013?

There is little doubt that margins are hard to come by when merely selling systems and tablets – hence it is essential that retailers are adding extra accessories and services to their offer. I would suggest that an independent retailer should derive 50 per cent of business through services or service contracts. If Computacenter can do it – so can a retailer!

What products/services will you be promoting at the event this year?

Westcoast Limited will be showcasing ‘Tablet Store’ a customisable Free Standing Display Unit for a tablet solution that any retailer can take advantage of. We will also have various specialists on hand to help and aid with any opportunities. The Westcoast Visual Merchandiser will also be available to discuss various ideas and innovations to maximise space and look within a retail environment. Please ensure that you come and speak to both Alex Tatham and Steve Kent about any business opportunities and Credit Issues that you might have as we will be arranging pre-booked appointments throughout the day to ensure we understand your own business and opportunity.

Why should retailers look out for on your stand at PCR Retail Boot Camp?

We are giving the retailers a solution to maximise the tablet opportunity that currently exists in the market. The solution will demonstrate how you can increase your range of accessories as well as partnering with the right tablet brands.

What are the key brands you carry?

HP, Samsung, Microsoft, Apple, Toshiba, Symantec and Acer, together with a full range of accessories.

What are your predictions for the business in 2013?

Following on from great growth last year and crossing the £1bn revenue mark for the first time, Westcoast continue to predict double digit growth with more brands, solutions and innovative marketing throughout the year. Get on board the Westcoast Bus which will be available for visits to resellers or their customers in May, June & July or engage with us on Cloud services. There is always so much going on at Westcoast and we can help in so many ways.

What distinguishes you from your competitors?

Westcoast Limited are a fast, flexible and entrepreneurial business. We lead the market with new and innovative ideas with brands that complement the success we had in 2012. With a focus on the UK market and processes designed to flex to the UK reseller’s needs, it never feels like you are dealing with a machine!

What are you looking forward to most at Boot Camp?

Last year’s event was a massive success for Westcoast Limited and enabled us to meet with new customers. This year we are most excited to get feedback from the UK retailers about our Tablet Store proposition, and ensure this solution is available to any retailer wishing to invest.
