PCR Boot Camp Partner Spotlight: Genius

Sales and marketing manager Stuart Pullen examines the issues facing technology retail today and tells us exactly what makes the Genius brand such an attractive proposition…

How important is it to connect with customers?
With ever keener competition and tighter budgets, building relationships is key to success. Obviously this is done by listening to and fulfilling the customer’s needs and providing great service but also by being active in the social media space where these relationships are increasingly being forged.

What do you see being the key issues facing PC retailers in 2013?
A major issue will be the ever growing move to online sales with High Street retailers suffering increasingly from ‘showrooming’. The resulting price transparency, product quality transparency and ease of supply from outside the UK all combine to create a very challenging environment for independent retailers and e-tailers alike.

Why should retailers look out for on your stand at PCR Retail Boot Camp?
It is our first Boot Camp, so for some it will be the first chance to see just how broad a range of products we make. We also have a number of product solutions that are unique to us that we are very excited about. Finally we will have some pre-production samples so it will be the first chance to see what’s coming later in the year.

What are your predictions for the business in 2013?
For us, although we expect the market will be tough, we expect steady growth this year driven by our new gaming products and expanding range of mobile computing accessories, which is a key growth market.

What distinguishes you from your competitors?
We have a quality of product and retail packaging comparable to that of better known brands but our more conservative marketing budget allows us to offer both better value price points for consumers and better margin potential for retailers.

PCR Boot Camp is a one-day conference and expo for the UK’s top technology retailers and resellers, taking place on Wednesday May 29th at The Brewery, London.
