From today, PC World is offering a free upgrade to Windows Vista to all customers who buy a PC or laptop priced £399 or above.

PC World offers free Vista upgrade

Following the announcement that Microsoft will offer a discount scheme for the forthcoming operating system, PC World is promising a free copy of Windows Vista Home Premium from now until March 31st.

Customers purchasing systems priced below £399 will be offered Windows Vista Home Basic edition for half the recommended retail price.

“We’re delighted to be able to provide a Vista upgrade guarantee to all our customers in the important pre-Christmas period,” said Bryan Magrath, commercial director at PC World. “Vista is going to be a major milestone in the industry – and will delight PC users in the years ahead. Our entire range of laptops and PCs priced at £399 and above have the muscle and the processing power to run Windows Vista effortlessly.”
