Rivals have a dig a Apple’s new slim-lined Macbook and the Apple Watch

PC vendors think the new Macbook is “#SoLastYear”

PC vendors are having a dig at the new new Macbook which was revealed last week, with Asus saying that the device is #SoLastYear on Twitter.

As pretty as the new laptop is, many rivals have slated it for its lack of inputs, and its £1,049 price tag.

Regardless, there has been ample hype around the slim-lined Retina Macbook largely due to it being available in gold.

Rival PC makers have struck whilst the Apple iron is hot, and jumped on to Twitter to compare the company’s products with their own.

One of the main selling points of the all-new Macbook was its slimmed-down figure, measuring in at 13.1mm.

“13.1mm!!!!” shrieks Asus: “Zenbook UX302 is even slimmer than the new Macbook. It’s also about half the price. #incredible."

Ok, so the claws are out…

Also commenting on the new Macbook’s waistline, Lenovo pitches in: “We see your thin laptop (#SoLastYear) and raise you three modes, two USB ports and a higher-resolution touch display.”

It has to be said; the minimal USB ports could prove to be a considerable hindrance to users. Especially since the only input is the same as the charging port.

Up steps Dell to take its swing, saying on Twitter: “Our #DellXPS 13’s virtually borderless infinity display has 5.7M pixels – that’s two million more than a 12” retina display.“

It makes you wonder if Apple is able to gallantly rise above these jibes, tight lipped and with not even a tear caused by such bullying.

Asus also tweeted about its debut smartwatch priced at around £135, considerably less than the Apple Watch.

Asus said: “The Asus ZenWatch packs in style, performance, and function all for about $200.”

All of this, along with the digs from Pebble at the Apple event, and you can almost hear Apple sobbing like the lonely rich kid in the playground.
