PayPal’s mobile payments app is now available for the Pebble smartwatch, the company announced today.

Payment provider PayPal’s integration into the wearables market gives the company the opportunity to rival Apple Pay, which the firm launched in the US this October.

Pebble users can now check-in to stores and other businesses that accept PayPal via the PayPal app and pay with an auto-generated payment code.

Pebble owners can also pay by checking into a store on the PayPal App. Once checked in, PayPal’s app will automatically communicate with a merchant’s point-of-sale.

In a blog post, PayPal said: “We’re working to make shopping easy and seamless so that you are one step closer to walking into a store and being able to place your order and pay without ever reaching into your pocket.”

Users are also able to receive payment notifications through the app, without the need of a phone.

The PayPal app is also available with the latest Android Wear devices as well as Samsung’s Gear 2, Gear S and Gear Fit.
