New Years Eve robbers make off with a large amount of goods

Paris Apple store hit by armed robbers

Armed robbers have hit an Apple store in central Paris while police were distracted with the New Years Eve celebrations on the Champs Elysees.

According to Reuters, four masked and armed thieves made off with potentially millions of Euro’s worth of goods from the store located close to the Paris Opera.

French police have declined to comment on reports that the value of losses may be as high as €1 million, as Apple is apparently still evaluating the loss.

“They were well prepared,” said a spokesman for the French police union, UNSA. “As the majority of police were busy watching the Champs Elysees for New Year’s Eve celebrations, the robbers took advantage of this opportunity.”
