Toughbook scheme gives vendor control of two-thirds of the rugged notebook market

Panasonic celebrates strong EU partner programme growth

Panasonic is highlighting the success of its Toughbook Engage partner programme after building a network of nearly 500 official partners across Europe.

The scheme, which is run by Panasonic’s Computer Product Solutions (CPS) division, has seen the vendor invest over £1 million in around 250 joint marketing activities with its partners in order to stimulate sales growth.

Here in the UK, three disties – SDG, Avnet and Centerprise – were awarded the status of official distributor, along with a further six premier partners and 165 registered partners. As a result of this, Panasonic has doubled the amount of CPS business it does through the channel, from 35 per cent of total sales to 70 per cent.

“Working ever more strategically with channel partners has never been so important,” said the European channel marketing manager at Panasonic CPS, Sophie Nicolay.

“With a growing market and an exciting product roadmap opening up even more opportunities, CPS has put the development of its channel network at the heart of its go-to-market strategy in order to offer customers the best solutions available on the market today.”
