Tesco, Asda and Spar among retailers to offer cryptocurrency conversion

Over 28,000 UK shops now offering Bitcoin for cash

Bitcoin can now be purchased using cash at over 28,000 UK shops.

Tesco Express, Asda and Spare are among the retailers offering the chance to exchange cash for the cryptocurrency, as well as thousands of independent stores.

Those looking to convert pounds to BTC can use the ZipZap payment service at any supported location.

Users must have an account with the Bitcoin companies Bittylicious, BuyBitcoin.sg or BIPS market, which they log into and choose the cash option before handing over the money to a cashier, who will scan the barcode supllied by each service to complete the conversion.

Support for the ANXBTC, ANXPRO, Kraken, CoinMKT and BTCX.se will be added in the near future.

Transactions have to be between £10 and £300, with four transactions permitted per customer per day.
