OnBuy to charge sellers a monthly fee of £22

OnBuy: ‘We’re better value than Amazon’

New online marketplace says it offers more value than Amazon in every category.

OnBuy, which launches in November, has just finalised its fees for traders. The site says it will offer market-leading rates.

Amazon charges sellers a monthly fee of £25 to trade on its site, OnBuy will charge £22 a month.

Like Amazon, OnBuy then charges its sellers a sales fee, which is a percentage of the price an item sells for. OnBuy says its sales fees are lower in every category.

“We’ve been listening to what sellers are telling us and we have worked hard to make sure that our offer to sellers is the best in the business,” said OnBuy MD Cas Paton.

“We’re excited about going live in November and we’re confident that once sellers have started trading with OnBuy, they won’t look back.”

OnBuy plans to offer millions of products from major brands to independent retailers and to roll out distinctive platform developments by mid-2014.
