The telecoms regulator has announced that bidding will not start until early 2013.
This means more waiting around for fourth generation bandwidth for mobile phone services.
Ofcom’s auction will sell sections of radio spectrum to support 4G services, which will enable users to download data at a much faster speed than the current 3G bandwidth.
The delay may see a mixed reaction from mobile operators, some eager to proceed with their 4G enabled devices, others thankful for a little more time to prepare for the new bandwidth.
Initially intended to take place early 2012, last year Ofcom move the auction to the end of 2012. Now it seems bidders will have to wait until 2013.
