During the President’s State of Union address Obama cited Apple as a potential driver of job growth after its decision to manufacture certain Macs in the US again.
“This year, Apple will start making Macs in America again,” said Obama, referring to the fact that last year Apple CEO Tim Cook stated: “We’ve been working for years on doing more and more in the United States. Next year, we will do one of our existing Mac lines in the United States.”
During the address Obama announced that America’s economy is slowly recovering after a debilitating financial crisis, revealing that nearly 500,000 manufacturing jobs had been added since January 2010.
