Nokia to make Windows phones?

Nokia is planning to create devices based on Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 operating system, reports suggest.

If true, it seems that Nokia’s new CEO and ex-Microsoft exec Stephen Elop has been given license to explore all options as the company seeks to revive its fortunes in the smartphone segment.

It’s not the first time rumours of OS diversification at Nokia have surfaced. Last year, it was reported that the company was developing a device based on the Android OS, though the company came out very quickly to deny the claim.
