New Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and 2014 edition 10.1 tablet shown off

Samsung has revealed the Galaxy Note 3 smartphone and the 2014 edition of its Galaxy 10.1 tablet at IFA 2013 in Berlin.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (pictured, main) has a wider 5.7-inch HD display, a slimmer (8.3mm) and lighter (168g) hardware design and more powerful 3,200mAh battery. Equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera with Smart Stabilisation and high CRI LED flash, Samsung Galaxy Note 3 also has the "industry’s largest" 3GB RAM.

Available in 32GB or 64GB internal storage along with an additional microSD card slot, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will launch starting from September 25th in more than 140 countries around the world.

Its new S Pen lets users take advantage of an Air Command feature, which lets them take memos, collect web content in a Scrapbook, draw sketches, write notes and more.

Group Play lets consumers play the same music, play games together and share documents. The Galaxy Note 3 is also equipped with an improved Find My Mobile feature that allows users to disable the phone when it is stolen or lost.

Samsung also announced the Galaxy Gear smartwatch which is designed to act as a companion to the Galaxy Note 3.

In addition, Samsung also revealed the new Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition tablet (pictured, right). This boasts an LCD 2560x1600 display, 1.9 GHZ Octa Core processor and 3GB RAM.

It has four times the pixel density of the original Galaxy Note 10.1, and has an updated S Pen included with better responsiveness and new features. More apps will be available, and a Samsung Apps widget will direct users to extra content from Samsung. 

The new Galaxy Note 10.1 also comes with "enhanced privacy and security protection" provided by Samsung KNOX, which helps protect against malware and phishing attacks as well as hacking attempts.

The Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) will come in three connectivity options: WiFi Only, WiFi and 3G, WiFi and LTE, available in 16/32/64GB forms plus micro SD. There are two colour options: Jet Black and Classic White. The Note 10.1 will arrive from Q3 this year.
