A new line of 'Navlets' - a hybrid product combining a tablet and car satnav - are being presented to the trade by Spanish vendor Vexia at Distree EMEA 2014 this week.

Vexia describes the products as 'Navigation Tablets', which follow on from the original Navlet concept in 2011.

The vendor says five major car manufacturers in Europe have selected Navlet as the top alternative solution to their own integrated GPS navigation systems.

The Vexia Navlet S offers a 6.5-inch screen, GPS navigation software and maps, 2G phone features, WiFi connectivity and a double camera, with 'more realistic 3D navigation'.

Then there's the new version of Navlet 2 with HD. This all-in-one is made to cover all needs inside and outside the car: emails, social networks and GPS navigation with pre-loaded maps. It boasts a 7-inch screen (1024×600 px), a Dual Core processor, 1 GB RAM, 8 GB Flash, WiFi, Bluetooth and double camera. It's powered by 4.2.2 Android OS.

Vexia is also launching the Zippers Tab 7,8i, the Zippers Tab 8i and Zippers Tab 9i tablets, all equipped with an Intel Atom Z2580 2.0 GHz. These follow its first Android Intel Tablet last year.

The Zippers 4 and Zippers XL smartphones are also on show at Distree this week. The former has a 4-inch IPS screen, Dual SIM, 3G and Bluetooth, while the Vexia Zippers XL phablet has a 6.5-inch screen, a Dual Core processor and Android 4.2.2 OS.
