Google’s next-gen tablet will be available in the UK ‘in the coming weeks’

New Nexus 7 has world’s highest resolution tablet screen

Google has unveiled the next-gen Nexus 7 with the world’s highest resolution tablet screen.

The new Nexus 7 will be available ‘in the coming weeks’ with a price tag starting at £150. It will be the first device to ship with Google’s new Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system and will come in three models: 16GB WiFi, 32GB WiFi, and 64GB LTE.

The 7-inch tablet has a 1980×1200 display, offering almost double the pixels per inch that the iPad Mini does, and it will cost around £100 less than Apple’s latest 7.9-inch tablet.

The new Nexus 7, or Nexus 7 2, includes a 5MP rear-facing camera, 1.5GHz processor and is 2mm thinner than the first-gen tablet.

According to knowyourmobile.com, one out of every two tablets sold are Android devices, with the Nexus 7 accounting for more than ten per cent of the total Android tablets sold.
