The world’s smallest 360 VR camera
Nico360, the world’s smallest consumer 360-degree virtual reality camera, has launched on crowdfunding website Indiegogo.
The camera features the highest resolution of a VR camera at 32 Megapixels and allows 360-degree live VR video streaming. It’s priced at $149.
Samsung unveils industry’s first removable UFS memory cards
Samsung Electronics has revealed removable memory cards based on the JEDEC Universal Flash Storage (UFS) 1.0 Card Extension Standard, for use in high-resolution mobile shooting devices such as DSLRs, 3D VR cameras, action cams and drones.
Coming in a wide range of storage capacities including 256, 128, 64 and 32GB, Samsung says its UFS cards are expected to bring a significant performance boost to the external memory storage market.
ASUS Sabertooth motherboard and Swift monitor
ASUS has announced its latest iteration of the TUF Sabertooth 990FX. Based on the AMD 990FX/SB950 chipset and compatible with processors for the AMD AM3+ socket, this updated model is a much needed refresh.
The TUF Sabertooth 990FX is to be available from July 25th with an SRP of £182.99.
ASUS has also announced a new high-end ROG Swift display. The PG248Q is a 24-inch gaming monitor with an overclockable 180Hz refresh rate and NVIDIA G-Sync.
New AOC gaming monitors
AOC has presented two new monitor models from its premium gaming series AGON – the AG241QG and AG241QX.
Both come with an ultra-fast TN panel, a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and a 1ms response time, providing competitive gamers with a stutter-free experience.
The AOC AGON AG241QX will be available in August 2016 for an MSRP of £389 and the AOC AGON AG241QG for an MSRP of £519 in September 2016.
Windows Server 2016
Microsoft has detailed its next server platform.
Microsoft has said that Windows Server 2016 will come in three versions: Datacentre, Standard and Essentials. It’s due to launch in September.
Cooler Master launches new Master products
Components and accessories vendor Cooler Master has launched the MasterLiquid Pro 120 and 240 for gamers and casual users who seek to take their CPU cooling to the next step.
The MasterLiquid Pro series uses the new MasterFan Pro, which is designed for radiators and has ‘an excellent balance’ of temperature and noise.
Each of the three 120mm and 140mm fans in the MasterFan Pro series provide a specific air cooling solution.
Then there’s the MasterGel and MasterGel Pro, thermal gel offering thermal dissipation. The MasterGel Pro will be included with the MasterLiquid Pro 240 for free.
Finally, Cooler Master has launched a new mid-tower case that aims to meet the needs of casual users, gamers and hobbyists alike. The MasterBox 5 comes with plenty of routing holes and covers for a PSU and drive bay to keep a system organized and clean.
There’s the MasterBox 5 Black and the MasterBox 5 Dual Tone – the MSRP for both cases is £59.99 including VAT.
Acer Travelmate X3
Acer has announced the TravelMate X3 notebook series.
First in the X3 series is the 14-inch TravelMate X349, with a Full HD IPS display that reclines 180-degrees to lie flat, and a LED backlit keyboard with a bigger, wider touchpad.
The TravelMate X349 will be available in in EMEA in September with prices starting at €480.

Razer releases world’s first ultra-low-profile mechanical keyboard switch
Razer has announced the Razer Ultra-Low-Profile Mechanical Switch, a first in the world of keyboard mechanical switches. The switches will be initially outfitted into the Razer Mechanical Keyboard Case for the Apple iPad Pro.
Each Razer switch features a true actuation and reset point. Presses are registered with 70 grams of force, mimicking the feel of full-size mechanical keyboards in a form factor that’s slim enough to accompany a mobile device.
New Gratnells PowerTrolley targets schools
The latest product releases from Gratnells, the PowerTrolley and PowerTray, have recently been placed into a local school for a six-week placement trial.
The equipment was supplied to Purford Green Primary School in Harlow, Essex.
The products allow teachers and pupils to charge their iPads.
