Apple has sent out invites to the unveiling which takes place on September 10th

New Apple iPhone event date confirmed, iPhone 5S and 5C expected

Apple has confirmed the date for its next iPhone unveiling, which will happen on Tuesday, September 10th.

The tech giant has sent out media invites to the event which will take place in Cupertino at Apple’s campus, at 10am PT (6pm UK time) reports The Verge.

It’s rumoured the upcoming iPhone 5S and budget iPhone 5C could be revealed on the day.

The invite features several different-coloured blobs and the line "This should brighten everyone’s day", hinting at a colourful new range of iPhone 5Cs which have been rumoured for some time.

A separate event will apparently be held in China a day later on September 11th.

The iPhone 5S may feature a fingerprint sensor and an improved camera with dual-LED flash, while the 5C is said to be a smaller, brighter, lower-priced version of Apple’s popular iPhone.

As well as the iPhone hardware, Apple is also set to announce an upgrade to its iOS operating system on the day. iOS 7 has been in beta for a while now, but there could be some other surprises in the works.
