Events and gaming services firm Multiplay says it won't place restrictions on other retailers or PC system builders at future Insomnia events.

The company was purchased by retailer GAME in a £20 million deal earlier this month.

The Insomnia shows attract a host of system builders and computer vendors who have exhibited in the past, including the likes of vendors such as Cooler Master and retailers/system builders including Overclockers and YoYoTech.

A spokesperson for Multiplay told PCR: "We don't plan on placing any new restrictions on exhibiting at the Insomnia events; both GAME and ourselves want the event to be the best gaming festival it can be, and we don't foresee our relationships with current or new retail-focused clients changing with regards to exhibiting at Insomnia.

"If anything we'll be making the show bigger, better, and more valuable for all exhibitors."

PCR also asked Multiplay if there will be any opportunities for other retailers of boxed video games to attend, or if GAME will be the exclusive games retailer at future events.

"No decisions have been made yet, but for future events our current intention is to work with retailers of all shapes and sizes across retro games, accessories, PC hardware, and other such niches," the spokesperson added.

"The exact details of how we go about working with retailers of boxed video game products is something that will be reviewed in more detail as we move forward."
