The Moto Hint can be stored and charged on a keychain and works with Google Now

Motorola unveils Hint headset, launches new Moto smartphones and Moto 360 smartwatch

Motorola has unveiled details about its new in-ear Bluetooth headset.

The device is specifically made to fit in the wearer’s ear and can be used to access Google Now and Moto Voice on the new Moto X smartphone – a refreshed version of the 2013 model.

One use for the earpiece is for navigation. For instance, a user can get directions to a location on their phone and receive turn by turn directions in their ear.

There is a sensor that automatically detects when the headset it removed and turns the device off. It can be charged and stored on a keychain when not in use.

The Moto Hint will go on sale later this autumn in the US, with a price tag of $149.99. It will be available in other regions ‘in time for the holidays’.

As well as a refreshed Moto X, which has a larger 5.2-inch display than on the previous model, Motorola also revealed a new Moto G device, which also sports a larger display than the previous model.

The 5-inch smartphone comes with an updated 8MP camera and dual front facing speakers. There’s a new flip case designed specifically for the new speaker placement.

The Moto X will go on sale in the UK at the end of September and cost £419 contract free, while the Moto G will be available in the UK by the end of the year.

Finally, Motorola also officially launched its Moto 360 smartwatch, which will be available as of today for $250 from Motorola’s website.

The Moto 360 can pair with any smartphone running Android 4.3 or higher and lets users receive notifications about weather, flight alerts and traffic as well as being able to send texts, set reminders and see directions via the built-in Google Now function.
