Computers for Charities has launched a new service aimed at providing peace of mind to corporate and SMB computer users.
Its ‘Monster Muncher’ is a computer hard drive shredder that can operate on or off site.
When disposing of old computers, there are often concerns about the need to ensure compliance with regulations around data protection and the disposal of electronic equipment.
Chairman Simon Rooksby said: “Our machine was built in America which gave us greater cost and choice options compared to the UK, despite the need for further modifications to ensure full compliance and safety to EU regulations, ensuring we can deliver the best hard drive disposal service in the UK.”
Rooksby believes IT resellers could benefit by offering this secure service to their business customers as a safe, compliant, green and CSR-friendly way to help them dispose of old equipment.
Individuals and companies are welcome to utilise the Monster Muncher by dropping off drives, or Computers for Charities can arrange to come on site and shred for extra security or where the volume warrants it.
All funds raised will aid the charity’s many activities, including their forthcoming Christmas shoebox appeal to aid disadvantaged children and elderly in the UK and overseas.
