Microsoft may unveil its Surface Pro 4 as soon as this October, according to sources familiar with the matter.

Windows expert Paul Thurrott recently revealed that the upcoming device will also boast a facial recognition system powered by Windows 10.

Microsoft is reportedly planning an October launch so that the device can come with Windows 10, reports the Inquisitr.

The Surface will also allegedly feature Intel’s new Skylake processors, and will also be available in two sizes including 12-inches and 14-inches.

It is also set to run on either an Intel Core i5 processor or a Core i7, as well as up to 1TB of storage and 16GB of RAM.

This news comes after Digitimes reported that Microsoft was producing the new device, while the firm also reportedly placed a large order for SSDs from Samsung.

Windows 10 launched last week, and more than 14 million devices upgraded to the operating system (OS) during the first day.

The company revealed that it still ‘has many more upgrades to go’ before every customer gets their copy of Windows 10.
