Mini tablet expected to come with 7.5-inch display

Microsoft Surface Mini likely to be unveiled at May 20th press event

Microsoft has sent out press invites asking the tech media to ‘join us for a small gathering’.

With a host of recent rumours suggesting that Microsoft is planning to launch a miniature version of its tablet, it seems likely that the tagline is hinting that the Surface Mini is on its way.

The smaller device is expected to come with a 7.5-inch 1440×1080 display with a 4:3 aspect ratio, Qualcomm processor and Windows RT.

Other rumours suggest that the Surface Mini will comes with hand and face-tracking technology similar to Kinect.

Last month, Microsoft announced the UK launch of its Surface 2 tablet with 4G. Available for pre-order now, the device goes on sale on May 8th and has an estimated retail price of £539.

Microsoft’s Surface event takes place on May 20th in New York City.
