Global webcasts to go out later today ahead of consumer release

Microsoft steps up Office 2010 push

Today Microsoft begins seriously pushing the latest iteration of its utility software package Office 2010, with a series of webcasts due to go out this afternoon.

Stephen Elop, president of the Microsoft Business Division will deliver an hour long presentation live from New York at 4.00, while UK MD Gordon Frazer will also be giving a speech more closely linked to UK channel.

The move marks the ‘marketing launch’ of the software ahead of the consumer release expected in mid-June. A business version was made available on May 1st.

You can expect much of the presentations to centre around the cross-format nature of Office 2010, allowing easier integration between mobile phones, tablets and PCs.

The web casts can be seen at www.the2010event.co.uk.
