Vendor adopts a flexible channel strategy

Microsoft releases Windows 8 marketing assets early

Microsoft has made its marketing asset packs available early in a bid to help the channel drive end-user demand.

The vendor has pulled the release dates forward by a week and they are effectively available now.

Entatech has contacted PCR to announce that it will be taking pre-orders of Windows 8 Pro and Windows 8 PCs ahead of the official launch date. The distributor is making asset packs, which contain a range of marketing resources, available to customers and can be contacted on 0333 101 1000.

“In an effort to further enable OEM and Retailer efforts around end user demand prior to general availability, Microsoft is providing additional flexibility regarding timing and use of Windows 8 Marketing Assets prior to General Availability,” reads the missive from Microsoft.

“Effective October 12, 2012, Microsoft is allowing general advertising and promotion of Windows 8 using all associated Microsoft Marketing Assets. This is a change from the previously communicated date of October 19, 2012, removing the limited use requirements of Microsoft assets between October 12-19, 2012.”
