Kevin Johnson, president of Microsoft’s platform and services group, has said "We feel like we are starting to hit our stride not only in demand, but in deployment in business," in reference to Vista.
Microsoft’s recent Q3 results were better than expected, with sales of Vista being a principle reason, but while teething problems remain, businesses are understandably cautious about switching from XP.
Apparently, higher than expected uptake of premium, higher margin versions of Vista, along with progress in its fight against software piracy were major contributing factors in Microsoft’s Q3 performance.
Johnson confirmed what everyone’s known since the launch; that he expects business demand for Vista to pick up once Service Pack 1 is released.
