Microsoft has hit a new high of 78 per cent on the American Customer Satisfaction Index, following the third year of growth in this category for the software giant.

According to GeekWire, the growth in customer satisfaction has been attributed to the increasing market penetration of the Windows 7 operating system.

However, although people are happier with its products, this has not translated to sales growth for Microsoft, which has seen its Windows division decline by four per cent in the last quarter and slower Windows PC sales in the face of growing competition from the tablet space.

“Customers are more satisfied with Microsoft’s software, but, for now, the company is selling less of it,” wrote the ACSI.
