Microsoft has revealed that its upcoming Surface Hub has been delayed, with shipping now expected from January 1st 2016.
The 84-inch 4K collaborative display was supposed to launch on September 1st this year, but due to increasing pre-orders outstreching the manufacturing process, the firm has put back the launch date.
In a blog post, Microsoft said: “We started taking pre-orders on July 1 and we’ve seen strong demand out of the gate. Based on the early interest we see, we’re tuning our manufacturing process to prepare for production at broader scale.
“To do this, we are adjusting our product roll-out schedule to ensure we deliver a great customer experience and set our partners up for success. We will not start shipping on September 1 now.”
The model is available in two variants, including the 84-inch model, which will retail for $20,000 (£12,000) and the cheaper $7,000 (£4,481) version, which features a 55-inch HD screen.
The Surface Hub was first announced during the Windows 10 event held earlier this year, where Microsoft revealed that the 84-inch screen is set to come with Nvidia Quadro K2200 graphics, while the smaller edition will feature an Intel HG GPU.
The Hub will also run on Windows 10 and will allow several users to edit documents and add notes to images at the same time using a smartpen or their fingers.
This news comes after analyst StatCounter revealed Windows 10 has seen its usage share climb to 3.2 per cent.
