Microsoft aims Windows at manufacturing

Microsoft is to demonstrate its range of embedded manufacturing solutions at next weeks Hannover Messe trade show.

The vendor will be demonstrating a number of products with various key partners including Siemens, Beckhoff and Online Development. They will be showcasing the capabilities of Windows Embedded Standard 7, Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3 and Windows Embedded Server, as well as a full range of additional platforms and technologies.

Targeted at manufacturers, these solutions are intended to help manufacturers “drive connectivity between plant floor and backend systems” in the drive to improve efficiency that has characterised many of Microsoft’s latest product releases.

“We continue to deliver high-performance and reliable technologies that provide our partners in manufacturing with the confidence to develop innovative, connected solutions in order to meet the growing demands of the industry,” said Microsoft’s senior marketing manager for Windows Embedded, Manoj Rami.

“From the real-time capabilities of Windows Embedded CE, to the latest Windows 7-based technologies in Windows Embedded Standard 7, Windows Embedded equips manufacturers to thrive in today’s economy by running at the highest efficiency, while ensuring flawless quality.”
