High-end and gaming-focused devices bucking the downturn, claims distributor

Meroncourt praises recession proof peripherals

Meroncourt has said that the recession is failing to dampen sales of high-end peripherals.

Speaking to PCR, sales director Steve Walsh conceded that the economic downturn was having an affect on its standard range, but said that gaming accessories were still selling strong.

"The market is still very healthy," Walsh said. "And due to our continual release of new products, sales continue to climb."

He was also critical of those who considered downgrading stock to ride the recession out. "The recession has affected our standard PC range more as people look to price point more than quality. That’s really a short term response, as when they see the stock being returned, they know they have to sell quality to survive."
