New acquisition will support endpoint security management push

McAfee acquires NitroSecurity

McAfee has announced the completion of an agreement to acquire long-term Security Innovation Alliance partner, NitroSecurity.

The deal, which will see NitroSecurity add its expertise in security information and event management (SIEM) to McAfee growing endpoint management portfolio, will be completed this quarter with full integration to follow.

The deal is especially convenient as NitroSecurity’s software has already passed integration testing with McAfee’s E-Policy Orchestrator (ePO), meaning that customers will be able to utilise a single security platform for event analysis and management across a business, as well as allowing CIO’s to rapidly deploy a range of actions including issuing new configurations, implementing new policies and deploying new software updates.

"McAfee is focused on keeping its customers safe with optimised security and risk management solutions," said McAfee’s general manager and senior VP for risk and compliance, Stuart McClure.

"McAfee has taken another significant step towards with goal with the proposed acquisition of NitroSecurity. With NitroSecurity’s technology and talent, McAfee can expand its reach in to new markets, secure new platforms and strengthen its hold as the leader in the security risk manegement market."
