Taiwanese OEMs are expecting orders for low-cost notebooks, such Asus' Eee PC, to reach the 13 million unit mark as more vendors prepare to launch their own models.

Both Wistron and Quanta are expected to expect to benefit this year after Acer and HP placed orders between one and two million with the OEMs for low cost PCs, sources told Digitimes.

HP's low cost PC is expected to hit the market as early as next month. Acer's is expected to arrive at retail in April.
