UK brick-and-mortar reseller looks to be online only after acquisition

Longstanding retailer Morgan moves online

Morgan Computers, a UK-based tech retailer of nearly three decades, is thought to have closed its high-street outlets to focus entirely on its online business.

A notification on the firm’s website states that the retailer – which opened its first store in Tottenham Court Road, London – will now operate its internet sales business in Somerset.

The new location is linked to Morgan’s new owning company, Bentham Group, which have acquired the firm for an undisclosed amount.

“In early November 2009, Bentham, based in Somerset acquired the rights to the Morgan e- commerce business,” said the firm.

“We are determined that the Morgan brand will build on its illustrious past with a substantially larger product portfolio, a much wide range of goods and provide even greater value for money.

“[Our] tradition of top quality end of line or refurbished product from top manufacturers will be maintained and extended,” Morgan pledged.
