ITV has reported that Wi-Fi on the tube has been used nearly three million times since the London 2012 Olympic Games began.
72 tube stations in London currently offer free Wi-Fi to commuters. After the games, the free service will become pay-as-you-go, with Virgin Media customers being offered continued access as part of their subscriptions.
In the first week of the Games, Virgin Media processed over 43,000 new registrations for Wi-Fi on the tube.
Virgin Media plans to bring Wi-Fi to a further 48 stations around London by the end of the year.
