Bracken P. Darrell comes from Whirlpool EMEA where he will assume the role of president and ultimately CEO.

Logitech hires Whirlpool exec for top job

Peripheral giant Logitech has named a new president, tapping Whirlpool for Bracken P. Darrell as the new chief reporting to chairman Guerrino De Luca.

"Bracken has a proven track record in highly successful global companies, with experience in operations, product innovation, marketing, service and brand management," said De Luca of the 49-year-old executive.

Bracken is to join the firm in April and will be responsible for research and development, manufacturing, IT, supply chain and sales and marketing.

Darrell has been ultimately hired to transition into the CEO role next year. Last July, former Logitech president and CEO Gerald P. Quindlen stood down following a set of disappointing results with former chief De Luca taking up the reigns until a replacement could be found.

The company is hoping that Bracken, whom De Luca described as a "change agent", can revive Logitech’s growth in the consumer segment following high profile failures over the last few years including the ill-fated Logitech Revue.

Bracken, who formerly managed the white goods specialist Whirlpool’s EMEA operations, said he was "a fan of Logitech products for years."
