Cisco have launched a high-end wireless broadband router called the Linksys E4200 which is claimed to offer wireless speeds up to 450Mbps.
The router has dual 2.4GHz and 5GHz 802.11n Wi-Fi radios and is aimed at enabling internet TVs, game consoles, smartphones, e-readers and VoIP devices to operate at full speed and range within the home while also providing smooth streaming of video and music.
THe E4200 also has a built-in UPnP media server with a USB storage jack and is armed with four gigabit Ethernet ports. The MIMO antenna system has three separate antennas for each of the Wi-Fi radios and Cisco have also upped the ante in the aesthetics department too.
The E4200 is available now for around $180 in the US but as yet there's no information on pricing and availability in Europe.
