LG to launch Ultra PC, Tab-Book 2 and webOS-powered TV at CES 2014

Smart TV will be LG’s first webOS product

LG has revealed that its will showcase a new ultrabook and hybrid slate at this year’s CES.

LG’s Ultra PC will come with a 13.3-inch Full HD IPS display, Intel Haswell Core i5 processor and will weigh less than 1KG. It will also have either 128GB or 256GB SSD storage options.

LG’s Tab-Book 2 hybrid slate will come with an 11.6-inch Full HD display, Haswell-based Intel Core i5 processor, and will weigh 1.5KG. There will also be a smaller version of the Tab-Book 2 on show.

As well as these two devices, there are rumours that LG will unveil a new smart TV powered by webOS at CES.

According to a report by WSJ, the new TV will be LG’s first webOS product following the operating system’s acquisition from HP.

The mobile-device operation system was originally developed by Palm and was designed to power smartphones that would compete with the likes of Apple’s iPhone. HP acquired Palm in 2010, using webOS to power a tablet and its smartphone models.
