Glasses-free 3D Android phone with stereoscopic cameras

LG Optimus 3D finally arrives at Carphone Warehouse

LG-made high end Android smartphone, the Optimus 3D, has appeared on sale in the UK at mobile specialist retailer Carphone Warehouse.

The LG Optimus 3G was first announced at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, way back in February. The device grabbed headlines due to the promise of a classes-free 4.3-inch 3D screen, in addition to raft of impressive-at-the-time features such as a dual-core 1GHz CPU.

It’s not just the Optimus 3D screen that gets the third dimension, it’s also able to capture 3D images and high-definition video thanks to the built-in twin rear-facing 5-megapixel cameras.

Following seamlessly endless delays, the Android 2.2 device has shown up priced at £499 SIM-free or starting at £35 a month on Orange, Vodafone and T-Mobile two-year contracts via the Carphone Warehouse online store.
