Lenovo has pulled its smaller Windows tablets from sale in the US due to a lack of consumer demand.
It has stopped selling the ThinkPad 8 and a version of the Miix 2 – both of which have eight-inch screens and launched late last year.
Stock has instead been redirected to other countries which are showing higher interested in smaller-screen tablets.
“In North America, we’re seeing stronger interest in the larger screen sizes for Windows tablets and are pleased with initial customer demand for the ThinkPad 10,” Lenovo spokesperson Raymond Gorman told PCWorld.
“In other markets, particularly Brazil, China, and Japan, the demand for ThinkPad 8 has been much stronger, so we are adjusting our ThinkPad 8 inventories to meet increasing demand in those markets. If market demand for ThinkPad 8 changes, we will re-evaluate our strategy."
The ThinkPad 8 tablet was also reportedly affected by charging, screen, connectivity and battery issues.
Lenovo’s 10-inch version of the Miix 2 continues to remain on sale.
