The president and co-founder of Riot Games, home of League of Legends, had his Twitter account stolen, revealing a card game spin-off of the game.

Marc Merill’s account was compromised and taken over by an intruder, who then proceeded to post images of a standalone card game called League of Legends: Supremacy.

The game was trademarked a year ago, with the thief saying that the game never completed development. Pictures of the game’s log-in screen and card templates were shared, with the hijacker threatening to reveal more of the game unless Merill contacted him directly.

No further images or details were posted, and Merill then tweeted “This is the real Marc. Account’s back in my hands.”

On the leaked screens, Merill said “Yup, someone shared some old screens from one of the many prototypes we’ve experimented with.”

“We’re always working on a variety of new ideas for League & beyond. Lots of experimentation that may never see the light of day :)”.

Following the reveal, the game was compared by some to Blizzard’s Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft card game spin-off of World of Warcraft. Other commenters have denounced the leak as a fabricated PR move in order to build anticipation for the upcoming game.
