The security vendor Kaspersky Lab has announced that it has partnered with distributor Tech Data.

The move was said by Kaspersky to be “part of an ongoing review of its distribution channel in the UK”.

As part of the collaboration, Tech Data will offer Kaspersky’s consumer security products as part of its core IT security portfolio. The products include Kaspersky Internet Security and PURE 3.0 Total Security.

All of the products will be available through Tech Data’s ‘TD Activate-here’ ecommerce service.

“At Kaspersky Lab, we are continually looking at ways to improve our distribution strategy and ensure we are at the forefront of software license delivery,” said Lee Sharrocks, UK Sales and Marketing Director of Consumer products at Kaspersky Lab.

“The software industry is developing quickly and we need to work with partners who can keep up with the changing requirements of the channel.”

“The distribution opportunities provided by the TD Activate-here platform, combined with the experience and reputation that Tech Data has in its field, will prove to be invaluable to both our customers and channel partners, and help to expand the availability of our products across the UK.”

“This new partnership with Kasperksy Lab gives our customers access to a comprehensive protection suite and strengthens our existing security portfolio,” added James Reed, Director of PC Systems and Software for UK and Ireland at Tech Data.

“It will also reinforce the value that electronic distribution can deliver, giving Kaspersky resellers the ability to offer the company’s consumer products for immediate deployment and use through TD Activate-here.”

“It is imperative that we offer security solutions that can protect consumers from the growing number of digital threats and this partnership is an important part of our plans for 2013.”
