Apple will announce regional pricing next month

iPad available in UK from late April

The iPad will be available in the UK from late April, Apple has announced this afternoon.

Both wi-fi and 3G models will be launched across Australia, Canada, Frnace, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland at the same time, though regional pricing will not be revealed until next month.

US customers will be able to get their hands on the device slightly earlier, from April 3rd. Prices there will range from $499 to $829, depending on the model. The firm has begun taking pre-orders, and the iBooks app will be bundled as a free download.

“iPad is something completely new,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “We’re excited for customers to get their hands on this magical and revolutionary product and connect with their apps and content in a more intimate, intuitive and fun way than ever before.”
