Chipmaker Intel has maintained its sales forecast for 2013 and still expects an increase in revenue.
IDC reported last week that global PC sales has seen their biggest fall since 1994, stating that tablets and smartphones have continued to divert spending.
Intel shipped seven per cent fewer PC chips in Q1 compared to a year ago, but managed to shift six per cent more server chips.
The chipmaker has reported that its first-quarter revenue was $12.6bn (£8.2bn), which is down $12.9bn compared to a year ago, but Intel still expects a ‘low single-digit increase’ in revenue throughout 2013.
