New deal signed as Enterprise Search Appliance passes 9,000 mark

Ingram Micro to distribute Google search hardware

Ingram Micro has scored a major coup, signing a new deal with Google to distribute the online giant’s enterprise software boxes in the US.

The devices, which Google have been producing since 2002, are aimed at companies which have such a large amount of documents that normal desktop/server search application wouldn’t be able handle.

According to Google’s official company blog, channel marketing manager Rodrigo Vaca said that the company had "passed the 9,000 mark for enterprise buyers of the Google Search Appliance and the Google Mini".
