We pitch quick-fire questions to Centerprise’s group marketing director about his top gadgets.

What’s the one gadget you can’t live without?
My Valve amplifier. I love vinyl.

What smartphone do you have?
iPhone 4S. I haven’t upgraded to the 5 yet – I’m waiting for the iPhone 6 or whatever it will be.

What about your tablet?
Third-generation iPad.

Favourite PC?
I’m particularly impressed with the YoYoTech Aurum 24K. I just need to win the pools or the lottery perhaps.

What would you like to see more of in the industry?
More local PC manufacturers and influence into the tech market.

And what do you want to see less of?
Domination by the major retailers.

What’s your New Year’s Resolution?
Two things – I’m going to run a 100 metres race for the over 60s and I’ve got an historic Formula One car that I’m going to drive and win a class, so I’ll get a cup that says I’ve won something!

What car is it and how did you get it?
A ‘76 Surtees which was actually used in the film Rush. I bought it a few years ago and ended up being invited by Ron Harris who was filming at the Nu?rburgring. My son [British Touring Car Championship driver Rob Austin] actually has a one-line speaking part in the film. You can see Rob Austin Racing in the credits. I did a bit of precision driving in it as well.
