All Humax Freesat+ boxes left in standby will automatically update overnight

Humax offer update to fix BBC Olympics recording gaffe

Humax has fixed the bug that prevented its Freesat boxes from recording the BBC’s dedicated London 2012 live streams.

PCR reported on Friday that a bug had been discovered and it was estimated that a fix would be made available early this week.

A software update has been sent to boxes via an OAD (over-air-download). All Humax Freesat+ boxes left in standby will automatically update overnight, meaning owners will finally be able to record the 24 BBC Olympic channels.

Viewers wanting to update earlier can do so manually by going to the box Menu Setup, Software Update and selecting Automatic Updates.

“We are really grateful to Humax who have really pulled out all the stops to find and issue the fix as quickly as possible,” commented Freesat.
