The Ascend Mate features a 6.1-inch screen

Huawei unveils ‘world’s biggest smartphone’ at CES 2013

If you already have trouble fitting your Samsung Galaxy S3 in your pocket, you’ll need a bumbag for the Huawei Ascend Mate.

Cited as ‘the world’s biggest smartphone’, the Ascend Mate’s screen measures at a monster 6.1-inches diagonally.

At this size, the Ascend Mate is basically a small tablet, or ‘phablet’ (ick), as some are calling it.

Packed with an 8MP front-facing camera, microSD card slot and HD display, this huge phone contains a whopping 4050mAh battery, which the firm says can provide up to 48 hours of power.

Along with the Ascend Mate, Huawei also had its slightly smaller counterpart, the Ascend D2 on display.

The Ascend D2 has a smaller 5-inch screen, but comes with a more powerful 13MP camera.

Both phones are set to debut in China next month and are expected to come to Europe at the start of March.
