PC vendor HP could cut hundreds more jobs in the UK this year - on top of the 1,124 proposed cuts it announced in late 2013.

HP previously said it would axe 27,000 jobs worldwide overall by the end of 2014, and over 7,000 of those will be culled across Europe.

The Daily Mail reports that HP representatives will meet with unions this week to discuss making further job cuts in the UK.

HP has previously denied it is preparing for redundancies in its Cambridge-based Autonomy software division, which is purchased in 2011 for £7.1 billion.

The vendor is said to currently employ more than 15,000 people in the UK.

HP CEO Meg Whitman previously said that fiscal 2014 will be a "pivotal year" for the firm, and has talked about its plans for the 3D printing sector.
