HP targets photo indies

Try before you buy scheme rolled out across the UK

HP has given a boost to independent and professional photography retailers by setting up a try-before-you-buy scheme for its Photosmart Pro B9180 A3+ photo printer.

Customers will be able to bring their own photos to 30 retailers across England, Scotland and Northern Ireland and test the quality of the printed output for themselves.

The printer won the prestigious Technical Imaging Press Association (TIPA) award for best A3+ printer in Europe in 2006.

Tim Potter, market manager, specialist photo printers, HP, said: “The HP Photosmart Pro B9180 Photo Printer is a real draw for photographers. It’s one of the few products of its kind that offers photographers gallery-quality printing in their own studios and homes and they’ll be eager to see how their photographs turn out when printed on this machine. When they seem them, they’ll be hooked.”

Additionally, HP is offering a ‘try and buy’ option to professional photographers. Customers have the option to have the printer collected by HP in the first 30 days for a full refund, less £15 handling fee, if they’re not satisfied with the product. The retailer is not involved with the take back of the product.
