HP has announced the imminent arrival of two new stylish notebooks that aim to build on the popularity of its HP 2133 Mini-Note, and incorporate designs by Vivienne Tam.

The HP Mini 1000 and the Compaq Mini 700 combines a lavish design with a range of features including HP’s new Mobile Internet Experience interface software.

Weighing just 1.1kg, the HP Mini 1000 has a 10.2-inch display and 8 or 16 gigabytes of SD RAM powered by an Intel Atom N270 and includes an option webcam, microphone, WLAN and Bluetooth connectivity. It also debuts HP’s Mobile Internet Experience software, which creates an all-you-need dashboard interface allowing the user to split the desktop into categories such as Internet applications, websites, video, music, email and other content.

The Mini 1000 also comes in a Vivienne Tam edition, which is based on the designers ‘China Chic’ style with a bright red finish inlaid with a peony flower detail.

The Compaq Mini 700 has been created with the student or professional in mind and has a range of features such as built-in webcam and microphone and WLAN and Bluetooth connectivity, allowing for video conferencing from any location.

The Compaq Mini 700 will be available from mid-December with prices estimated from £299 including VAT.

The HP 1000 will be available in mid-February, while the Vivienne Tam edition will hit shelves in January with both models carrying an estimated price of £399 with VAT inclusive.
